    To day you have the option of a half day sightseeing tour of Auckland City or this 3 hour tour can be done on the morning of day 3, starting at 09.00 and finishing at around 12.00. If you opt to do the sightseeing tour on day 3, you will have the remainder of the day at leisure in Auckland, the city of sails.

    Hobbiton Movie Set

    Depart from your Auckland City accommodation to the enchanting and very popular tourist destination, Hobbiton, based in Matamata. On arrival at the Shire’s Rest, you embark on your guided tour of the Hobbiton Movie Set. Marvel at over 40 Hobbit Holes, the Mill and Double Arch Bridge, The Party Tree, Bilbo’s house, “Bag End” and the fully built Green Dragon Inn. Be treated to a delicious Hobbiton-style ale or soft drink, and enjoy some lunch (at own expense).

    After departing Hobbiton, continue west onto Waitomo for a guided tour of the Ruakuri Glowworm Caves. This incredible natural wonder includes a walking tour of the caves with its stunning limestone formation and thousands of tiny glowworm lights.
