The nature and landscape of the Valle Lavizzara have inspired artistic creation for centuries. As we explore the Valle Lavizzara we will find unique places of creativity, beauty and energy. The villages of Mogno and Fusio and the International Sculpture Centre in Peccia demonstrate the valley's commitment to promoting creativity, art and innovation.
The church dedicated to John the Baptist is located in the Mogno settlement. It was built according to a project by Mario Botta.
Fusio is the highest village in Val Lavizzara. The village still has many characteristic old buildings made of stone and wood.
The International Sculpture Centre (CIS) is a cultural centre located in Peccia (Valle Lavizzara). This centre is unique in Switzerland and is characterised by its humble and respectful relationship with the majestic landscape of the Lavizzara Valley, one of the most sought-after valleys in Ticino.
The Grotto Pozzasc is located on the banks of a fountain flowing from a stream coming from the Peccia valley. Originally the building was used as a water mill for grinding grain.
