Today, your Ecuador & Galapagos Gastronomic Tour starts. After your arrival at Quito Airport, you will have a private transfer to your hotel in Quito. Depending on your arrival time, you will enjoy a welcome cocktail on the hotel rooftop.
Prepare to indulge your senses as you delve into the culinary wonders of Ecuador's vibrant capital city. Begin your day at a charming coffee lab at the heart of the Mariscal area, before venturing into the captivating Historical Center. Explore a quintessential Quiteño food market, then stop at a local restaurant for a delectable empanada (stuffed pastry). Stroll through the Old Town and visit one of its emblematic churches before delighting in a traditional lunch. Top it off with traditional sweets: Pristiños (fried pastries with raw sugar syrup), Quesadillas (muffins crowned with frosting), and Helados de Paila (unique ice cream). This extraordinary exploration concludes at a classic fonda quiteña (small economical restaurant) with a traditional beverage. Return to your hotel with your heart and taste buds forever captivated by the flavors and traditions of Quito.
After breakfast, you will be picked up to go to Cotopaxi National Park. There are several activities that you can choose to do inside the National Park such as horseback riding, mountain biking or just hiking. You will enjoy a delicious and traditional picnic. In the afternoon, you will be dropped off at a local country house where you can see alpacas and enjoy the mountains.
After breakfast you will go to the Chimborazo province, in the way you have the opportunity to visit towns like Lasso and try the famous “Salcedo Ice Cream” visit local markets in Latacunga or Saquisili were you can admire the local lifestyle, fruits and vegetables colors and variety. You will arrive in Guamote, were you can enjoy a delicious “Pamba Mesa” (community food of ancestral origin) and the local activities at the lodge like visit to the community.
This morning, you will enjoy Inti Sisa Comunity, learning about the local activities they practice (farm, school projects, handmade articles, etc) and enjoying an Andean Coocking Class. After lunch you will drive to the Ingapirca ruins. You will visit these in the afternoon, and at night you have a local hacienda dinner with potato soup and pork.
In the morning you will visit the Ingapirca ruins and then you will be transferred to Cuenca. You will visit the historical center of Cuenca including the Turi viewpoint. You will visit the local market and have lunch at one of the famous restaurants in Cuenca. Cuenca has won the South America’s Leading City Break Destination of 2018, and you will see in this tour why that is the case. It is an amazing city with a lot of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. At night you will go to a wonderful rooftopbar were you will enjoy some cocktails.
After breakfast at the hotel, you will depart to the Ecuadorian Coast region. You will have a view of Cajas National Park and other beautiful panoramic views. You will arrive to Hacienda La Danesa, where you will enjoy a delicious local lunch and enjoy the afternoon with local activities like tubing, chocolate making tour or hacienda activities.
Early in the morning you will depart to Progreso sector to visit the “Dos Hemisferios”, You will have a tour of the vineyard, where you can learn how made the impossible possible, sowing and harvesting grapes for a high quality wine. Following this, you will visit the plant, where you will be able to learn about the entire winemaking process. Once the tour is over, you will return to Gran Samán, where you will finally be able to taste wines like Bruma Sauvignon Blanc/Chardonnay, Enigma, Travesía Cabernet Sauvignon and Paradoja wines, along with a delicious three-course picnic lunch. Late transfer to Guayaquil.
After breakfast and 8 days of beautiful exploration and amazing food, expecting that your trip was incredible you will be brought to Guayaquil Airport by the hotel shuttle.
