This 4-day Amazon expedition is an great way to discover the amazing nature of these forests. There is a possibility of seeing pink dolphins, monkeys, alligators, toucans and other animals. Stay at a comfortable lodge in the middle of the Amazon and participate in day activities like night walks, piranha fishing, local community visit, and boat rides to watch birds.

    Day 1

    ARRIVAL TO CUYABENO

    Today, your Amazon Cuyabeno Adventure starts. You can take a flight (IF AVAILABLE) or take a bus (trip the night before the tour which takes about 8 hours) to the Cuyabeno Bridge which is the starting point of the tour. From here, you will have a canoe trip down the Cuyabeno River to the lodge. Visit the Laguna Grande to swim and enjoy the sunset. Exciting night walk through the rainforest.

    HIKING DAY

    In the morning you will go for a three hours hike in the primary forest to learn about the flora and fauna, especially to know about medicinal plants, frogs, insects, birds, etc. Relaxing time just after lunch, in the afternoon you will go for a canoe exploration on the Lagoons to enjoy the flooded forest. Where you can swim and enjoy the sunset. If conditions permit, you may be able to see pink dolphins. Return to lodge afterwards.

    COMMUNITY DAY

    Visit the Community Siona Tarabeaya where you can see the preparation of the traditional bread Casabe and the naturalist guide will explain about the culture and traditions of the native people. Visit the Shaman, who will explain about the ceremonies in the jungle. Return to camp.

    CUYABENO – QUITO

    For the last day of your Amazon Cuyabeno tour, you will go bird watching early in the morning. After that, you will navigate the Cuyabeno River back to the Cuyabeno Bridge. From here, you will return to Quito by bus or plane (IF AVAILABLE). Box lunch is included.
