Today is the first day of your Galapagos Multisport tour. It is important to book an early flight arrival to Baltra Airport to make sure you can enjoy all of the activities of the program as they are described. At Baltra Airport, an English-speaking guide will pick you up to go to Puerto Ayora to enjoy your lunch. After lunch, you will take the speedboat to Isabela Island. This is a 2-hour ride on a speedboat, so please be prepared with a light waterproof jacket and motion sickness medication, if necessary. Upon arrival on Isabela Island, a driver will take you to your hotel. Itinerary for flights arriving to Baltra after 12:00 PM might by slightly different compared to this one. Please communicate to our staff if your flight arrives after noon.
In the morning you will begin a journey to the Sierra Negra Volcano, boasting the world's second-largest crater, 13 miles from Puerto Villamil. A 45-minute bus ride precedes a rewarding hike, with a box lunch awaiting at the volcano. Following the trek, enjoy a brief hotel rest before exploring Concha Perla. Enjoy a refreshing snorkel or swim, marveling at vibrant fish, sea lions, and perhaps even a passing sea turtle.
Following breakfast, hotel pickup precedes a bike ride to explore the Giant Tortoise Breeding Center and the historic Wall of Tears, built by prisoners from 1946 to 1959 during Isabela's penal colony era. Return for lunch before an afternoon sail to Tintoreras Islet, named after the white-tip sharks known as Tintoreras. Encounter penguins, sea lions, and marine iguanas, and engage in shark snorkeling amidst a vibrant array of fish.
Today you will head to the bay of Puerto Villamil together with the guide. Here you will go kayaking to visit the coastal zona, and you will have the opportunity to observe and photograph marine iguanas, sea lions and penguins. Then, after a short break, you return to the hotel for lunch. In the afternoon, you will get on your bike again and go to the top of the island to visit Cave Sucre (biking), the Mango viewpoint, and Campo Duro. Here you can see and approach the giant tortoises in their natural habitat.
Today, your Galapagos Multisport adventure comes to an end. Early in the morning, you will travel to Santa Cruz Island on the public speedboat leaving Isabela Island at 6:00 in the morning. You will receive a breakfast-to-go before you leave. Upon arrival in Puerto Ayora, your Spanish-speaking driver will provide transportation to the Itabacca Channel and assist you back to Baltra Island to the airport.
