We begin our tour at the Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora do Sameiro, one of the most important monuments of Marian worship in Portugal. Here you can enjoy a panoramic view over the city of Braga.
We head towards one of the oldest Sacro-Monte and standard-bearer of the Minhota region - Bom Jesus do Monte and its Basilica - UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2019.
Arriving in the center of the city of Braga, full of youth and tradition, we visit the Sé de Braga, the oldest cathedral in Portugal (11th century), a work that accompanies the foundation of Portugal, becoming one of the most important symbols of power religion in Portugal.
Strolling through the streets of this city, we get to know many other special and characteristic places of this city. It will be, still here, that we will enjoy the flavors of the Minho, at lunch, in a restaurant with traditional cuisine.
We head towards the acclaimed birthplace of Portugal - Guimarães, where we visit the Castle of Guimarães, whose foundation dates back to the 10th century.
The story goes that this Romanesque church (13th century) may be associated with the baptism of the first king of Portugal - Afonso Henriques. The tombs found inside make this church a testament to the battles that marked this territory.
Afterwards, we visit the Palace of the Dukes of Bragança, whose foundation dates back to the 15th century - a must!
Within the walls of the old city, we walk through the old streets of the city, full of stories and legends, to discover the Historic and Medieval Center of Guimarães - UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2001 and, a unique vestige of a type of city conception, for the morphology of its medieval urban fabric and by a type of construction erected with traditional building techniques. Departing from Praça da Oliveira, you will have free time to explore the houses and modus vivendis of Guimarães.
