This is an Inner mekong adventure cycling trip. Taking you through BenTre coconut palm to TraVinh and SocTrang, the most popular Khmer community of Mekong delta. Then we explore the old time famous NgaNam floating market. It’s a real floating market that far away from big group beaten track. It is nice to be in a quiet place, go to bed early and wake up before the sun rise to enjoy the scenery of NgaNam floating market.

Itinerary

    Day 1

    Day 1: SaiGon – MyTho- BenTre – TraVinh (B,L)

    Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral

    We transfer in the morning to mekong delta and we cross Rach Mieu suspension bridge over the main Mekong river to BenTre, a special province of coconut palm with lots of small winding canals lined with mangroves. We start riding on small country roads, feeling lost under the green coconut canopy. Our van pick us up for a short crossing HamLuong bridge to MoCay, a special district of coconut palm with lots of small winding canals lined with mangroves. We continue cycling on village road, local ferry crossing at VamNuocTrong, on to DinhThuy, a war memorial of DongKhoi rebellion in 1960, 4k click to MoCay. Lunch break at a local restaurant serving ComTam – a broken rice with ribs. Then we bike a long Mocay canals, see local industry making fiber from coconut shells. We pass Cho Thom market and on a local road under coconut palm garden to NgaiDang and Camson. This special cement route 17k through local village from Mocay to Camson is our highlight of this day. Then we cross CamSon ferry to LongDuc, and have 7 click more to TraVinh. Total cycling 50 ~ 60km O/n CuuLong hotel. ***

    Day 2 : TraVinh – CauKe – CanTho (B,L,D)

    TraVinh is the homeland of Khmer people, there are more than 250 Khmer pagodas in the province and over 300,000 Khmer people. The most populated Khmer minority in the mekong delta provinces. So we will spend this morning time to discover beautiful Theravada pagodas like OngMet pagoda, historical Ba Om pond and Ang pagoda. Then we mount on our bikes, cycling on country roads to GiongTranh, and keep on small path along rice paddies to TieuCan. Then, we continue riding to CauKe. Lunch break in CauKhe. From here, we can ride all the off road with ferries to Cantho, or have a short transfer to TraOn, then ride the island loop to MyHoa and on to CanTho. Please check with our cycling guide for distance and option for the road.

    Day 3: CaiRang floating market – CanTho – SaiGon (B,L)

    Early boat trip to visit CaiRang floating market, see the locals exchanges their products on wooden boats. Then we start cycling zig zag in the rice paddies to PhongDien or MyKhanh. Back to CanTho for your transit to PhuQuoc, or to ChauDoc for going to Cambodia. Or we then transfer back to SaiGon. End of tour in Saigon. Total cycling around 25km.
