While they are not large-scale exhibition facilities like art museums, the appeal is that you can see genuine ukiyo-e up close and actually pick them up and choose them. In these stores, you can not only purchase works, but also talk to staff with specialized knowledge about ukiyo-e and learn about the background of the works. Our guides have connections with these bookstores and galleries, and will act as interpreters for the expert explanations. We can help you purchase works not only from the Edo period, but also from the Meiji, Taisho, Showa, and modern periods. If you let us know the name of your favorite artist in advance, we can also help you find the work you are looking for in advance.
