What to expect

Starting at Praça Armando de Sales Oliveira in Vila Mariana, you'll open the Explorial app, enter the 6-digit game code that you received by text and Viator chat message, and head into Ibirapuera's greenery. The tour is fully self-guided — no guide, no fixed start time, just your group and the city.

The Auditório Ibirapuera appears first: Niemeyer's white wedge with its scarlet canopy. Riddles explore how the architect shaped the park for São Paulo's 400th birthday.

At the Museu Afro Brasil, trivia honours a collection spanning five centuries of Afro-Brazilian art, memory and resistance.

Then comes the MAM, the modern art museum sheltered under the park's sweeping marquee, with sculpture-garden clues on the side.

Two relaxed hours cover it, with plenty of shade for thinking. The final ranking decides who owns Ibirapuera — at least until sunset.
