What to expect

Starting at Piazza delle Belle Arti, 1, 50122 Firenze FI, Italy, open the Explorial app and enter the 6-digit game code that you received by text and Viator chat message. The riddles begin immediately — no need to wait for anyone.

Your first landmark is the Università degli Studi di Firenze, a sprawling academic institution whose neoclassical buildings carry centuries of Italian intellectual history.

From there the app guides you to the Biblioteca Nazionale Centrale di Firenze, one of Europe's great libraries, where millions of volumes rest beneath a handsome historic facade.

The route then leads to the Ponte alle Grazie, a graceful bridge spanning the Arno with views that have captivated Florentines for centuries.

Allow around 2 hours for the full route. Comfortable shoes recommended — and if plans change, the game saves your progress so you can continue another day.
