The trail unfolds across Castro Verde's compact and walkable centre. The Basílica Real de Nossa Senhora da Conceição — the royal basilica built to mark a pivotal moment in Portuguese history — features early with a riddle about its exterior details. Moinho de Castro Verde, the old windmill on the edge of town, brings a photo challenge that gets the group involved. At Casa Dona Maria, an observation task rewards anyone who pays close attention to the building's facade. The pace is relaxed; Castro Verde's centre is small and the trail moves at your speed.
