What to expect
The trail takes you through Bath's UNESCO-listed Georgian centre. The Roman Baths — the preserved complex built around a natural hot spring — feature early with a riddle asking you to look at the Bath stone architecture rather than the entrance queue. The Jane Austen Centre, in the terrace where Austen lived during her Bath years, brings a photo challenge with the Regency streetscape as a backdrop. The Royal Crescent, the sweeping arc of 30 townhouses overlooking a broad lawn, features in an observation task that rewards looking at the details across the full curve. Bath's compact centre keeps the distances short.
