This app-led scavenger hunt takes you through Munich on foot, using phone-based riddles to guide you from one landmark to the next. No guide, no fixed start time.

What to expect

Starting at Viktualienmarkt 3, you'll open the Explorial app, enter the 6-digit game code that you received by text and Viator chat message, and dive into Munich's beloved food market. The tour is fully self-guided — no guide, no fixed start time, just your group and the city.

The Viktualienmarkt sets a delicious opening pace — 140 stalls, a maypole and a beer garden where all six Munich breweries take turns. Riddles pair well with a pretzel.

The Hofbräuhaus follows, three storeys of brass bands and litre steins since 1589. Trivia covers regulars ranging from Mozart to the odd empress.

Then Odeonsplatz opens wide, with the Feldherrnhalle's stone lions and the Theatinerkirche's yellow towers lending Florentine drama to Bavaria.

Around two hours through the city's heart. Winners collect their glory — and arguably a Maß — nearby.
