Walk on Vilnius main avenue to see bears eating chocolate, to find out why they are doing so and keep searching more Jewish signs and imprints which will be echoing in every step of the tour.
Stop by the Presidential Palace to hear an incredible story of Sir Moses Haim Montefiore, the Sheriff of London and his adventures in Vilnius.
We will advance to the Jewish Quarter in Vilnius Old Town, to listen to the walls that remember and talk about Jewish traditions and daily life in the past.
Strolling along beautiful streets of Vilnius Old Town, with each building holding and telling its own story through your local guide's lips, we will stop at the place where Great Synagogue of Vilna used to stand, listen about its extraordinary history. Further we will advance towards Jewish Cultural and Information Center to discover more artifacts of daily life and unveil terrifying secret.
Slightly shaken we’ll step out to get fresh air and meet Zemach Shabad – city’s beloved legendary doctor, reminiscence of famous doctor Doolittle, who worked in various medical fields, charity, social activities and journalism and become a hero of Vilnius town dwellers.
If we will get lucky (there will be no religious celebrations or closed events on the day of our tour) we will enter Vilnius Choral Synagogue. See the old machinery for making Matzo - special unleavened bread which is part of Jewish cuisine and hear the stories and superstitions, and why it was not destroyed during WWII.
Walking on the border of Old and New Towns and listening of today’s life of Jewish and other communities in Lithuania, you will get all advises of other important Jewish sites to visit around Vilnius. We will finish our tour for the light lunch at one of the most beloved bagel shops in Vilna to celebrate LIFE - L’Chaim!
