Led by our expert local guides, you will push through rugged terrain, navigate dense cloud forests, and tackle the final steep scramble to the iconic white-rock summit. Starting from the iconic La Ventolera, this route follows a panoramic ridgeline, climbs through lush forest, and culminates in a steep scramble to the commanding summit of Pico Blanco. This experience is designed for experienced hikers with good physical fitness.

    The character of the hike changes instantly. The terrain becomes more technical, with tangled roots and rocks underfoot. The trail here can be particularly muddy. You will be walking through a beautiful, dense section of cloud forest before emerging at the base of the final, rocky peak of Pico Blanco.

    Road from La Ventolera to Pico Blanco. The trail begins as a wide dirt access road. You will immediately start a gradual ascent with the giant windmills on your right. This section is known as the "rollercoaster" for its continuous series of rolling hills along the ridgeline. The views of the Central Valley open up almost immediately. You will pass through a few farm gates.
