Iztaccihuatl Volcano Hike from Mexico City

Explore the Iztaccíhuatl-Popocatépetl National Park on a guided hike with pickup and round-trip transportation from Mexico City.
Level 1 - Beginner: 8–9 km, from 3,600 to 3,980 m a.s.l. It is the shortest route, with a moderate climb and wide views of Iztaccíhuatl and Popocatépetl. Walking time: 3.5–4 h.
Level 2 – Intermediate: 13–14 km, from 3,600 to 3,960 m a.s.l. The initial climb of Level 1 is shared and then continues mainly downhill between forest, meadows, springs, and a small waterfall. It is the route with the greatest variety of landscapes. Time: approx. 5 h.
Level 3 – High mountain: 7 km, from 3,970 to 4,500 m a.s.l. It is the most demanding due to the altitude, slopes, and loose volcanic sand and rock terrain. The experience focuses more on the high mountain environment of Iztaccíhuatl. Time: approx. 5 h. We recommend shoes or boots with a good sole and traction.
If you are looking for wide views of both volcanoes, levels 1 and 2 are better options. Level 3 offers a higher altitude experience, with volcanic rock, craters, and high mountain landscape.
