Porto Flavia is one of the most spectacular mining sites in Southern Sardinia, a port suspended above the sea intended for loading ore onto large steamers. It is a jewel of mining art that overlooks the splendid Iglesiente sea.

    Masua beach is a wonderful bay marked by the remains of historic mining buildings: a large stone warehouse and the columns and pier of an ancient port from 1915 intended for loading minerals into small sailing boats. Full of natural charm, it will be an evocative first stop on our journey.

    We will see the beautiful coast between Masua and Porto Flavia from above as we walk through a pine forest just above the Bega Sa Canna beach. The beautiful green and purple shale rocks contrast with the crystalline sea, while in the distance we will admire the imposing silhouette of Pan di Zucchero.

    Porto Flavia is one of the most spectacular mining sites in Southern Sardinia, a mining port overlooking the splendid Iglesiente sea, for everyone a place of charm where one is enchanted by the landscape and the genius of the work. We will visit the suggestive road tunnel, where the mining train passed, up to the final part, where the train turned passing in front of one of the most beautiful views of Sardinia, in front of Pan di Zucchero. We will always return on foot, stopping to admire the deep and impressive mineral deposits, the rocks, the concretions, the miners' tools.
