Kaymakli Underground City
Kaymakli underground city is built under the hill known as the Citadel of Kaymakli and was opened to visitors in 1964. The people of Kaymakli (Enegup in Greek) village have constructed their houses around nearly one hundred tunnels of the underground city. The inhabitants of the region still use the most convenient places in the tunnels as cellars, storage areas and stables, which they access through their courtyards. The Kaymakli Underground City has low, narrow and sloping passages. While the underground city consists of 8 floors below ground, only 4 of them are open to the public today, in which the spaces are organized around ventilation shafts.

Love Valley
These amazing rock formations are completely natural. They are ancient structures that sit at over a thousand meters altitude. There is generally no rainfall in the area. Cappadocia has really hot, dry summers and cold, snowy winters. At Love Valley, you can visit the viewpoint from above or you can trek right down to the base of these huge structures. It’s a safe and easy hike and you get a real feel of the Cappadocia magic.

Red Valley
These beautiful rock formations are named for the beautiful red hue the rock turns during sunset in Cappadocia. Cavusin
Cavusin is a touristic and charming village and one of the oldest settlements of the region situated along the Goreme-Avanos road in Cappadocia. Christians who lived here during their time created living spaces for themselves in the cavities they dug into the fairy chimneys in the region in order to escape from the pressure of the Romans and to live their religion more comfortably. Locals still live in the rock-cut dwellings and stone houses.

Pigeon Valley
Pigeon valley is situated between Göreme and Uçhisar and is ideal for walking, as the trek is relatively easy. The name comes from the thousands of pigeon houses that have been carved into the soft tuff since ancient times. Although they can be found throughout Cappadocia, they are especially numerous in this valley. They were carved wherever space allowed, including abandoned cave houses and churches. In Cappadocia, pigeons have long been a source of food and fertilizer. The advent of chemical fertilizers has reduced the use of pigeon dung. However, some farmers still maintain their lofts because they insist that the reputation of Cappadocian fruits as the sweetest and most succulent in Turkey is entirely due to pigeon dung.

Uchisar Castle
If you're looking for the highest point in Cappadocia, then it's Uchisar Castle. The fairy chimney was admired for its unique composition and later was shaped to become a natural fortress after losing his head. A climb up the 120 steps to the summit of the castle is an excellent introduction to the mountainous terrain of Cappadocia from where you can see all the valleys of the region.

Goreme Open-Air Museum
Göreme Open Air Museum was included in the World Heritage List by UNESCO in 1985. Its historical and natural texture is meticulously preserved and maintenance is ongoing. The museum, which stands out in relief with the increasing number of tourists every year, is visited by more than 1 million people every year and this number is constantly increasing. Monastic life has been lived here for centuries. The frequency of the dining halls and places of worship in the region, which hosted intense monk life between the 4th and 13th centuries AD, is remarkable. With this form of life, the region became the first point of monastery education system.

Fairy Chimneys
Those who come visit Cappadocia mostly go to Pasabag Valley to see the best fairy chimney formations. The formations that once used as a seclusion place for the Monks, are now a very attractive tourist zone in Cappadocia. One of the best activities in the valley is to enjoy the nature and unique beauties by walking among the fairy chimneys. The valley, which was used as a retreat by the priests and monks during its period, includes many rock-cut monasteries, churches, chapels and settlements, as well as tunnels and mills. Fairy chimneys, which are formed by the strong wind and precipitation from the slopes of the valley and the flood waters eroding such tuff structures of the region, have a mushroom-like appearance in this region.
