The tour begins with an early departure from Guadalajara, allowing you to enjoy a scenic drive surrounded by vast fields of blue agave, a view that is both breathtaking and educational, as these fields are the birthplace of the essential raw material for the production of tequila, also known as the "Agave Landscape," a World Heritage Site. The first stop on the tour is the "Don Cayo" distillery, where an expert will warmly welcome you. Here, you will discover the fascinating tequila production process, which includes the harvesting of agave piñas, cooking, grinding, fermentation, and distillation. You will have the opportunity to observe each stage up close and learn about traditional techniques that have been perfected over generations. You will also experience the barrel aging process, which gives tequila its distinct flavor profiles, and taste a variety of tequilas, from blanco to reposado, añejo, and tequila liqueurs.
