The war route "Discover the traces of the civil war in Valencia" is a unique tour. It puts into context the importance that the city had in the 1930s, when, in the middle of the civil war, the government moved to Valencia, which would become the capital of the Second Republic.
With the help of an official local guide, you will learn about the transformations that took place in the political and cultural life of the city, and the most emblematic places that changed the course of history. We will talk about the social revolution that achieving the right to vote meant for women.
You will discover the mark left by the Valencian writer and politician Vicente Blasco Ibáñez, a key figure in the development of the city's republican spirit. You will visit a school air raid shelter to get closer to the reality experienced by people who suffered bombings during the war and you will tour various medieval palaces that were converted into ministries.
