This 2-day Safari experience is a Real Adventure.
You and your group will experience beautiful Lake Manyara National Park, with a chance to see giraffes, elephants, lions and hippos in their natural environment. Then, you will camp overnight in the nearby community of Mtu wa Mbu.
The second day, the adventure continues to Ngorongoro Crater, a natural wonder of the world! Your group will descend into the world's largest intact volcanic caldera, featuring one of the highest densities of mammals: rhinos, lions, hyenas, gazelles, elands, zebras, wildebeests, and elephants live within the crater.
It is an ideal experience for families or small groups looking for a quick but action-packed safari in Tanzania.
We are a team of Tanzanians passionate about sharing the beauty of our nation with travelers. Come experience Tanzania with us!
We pick up all clients at a pre-arranged point. Usually a hotel within the Arusha or Usa River vicinities. Please let us know your preferred pick-up location.
After pick up, your driver-guide will begin the drive to Lake Manyara National Park. This lovely park surrounds a natural crater lake, home to hippos, pink flamingos, and many other waterfowl. The forests around the park are also home to giraffes, elephants, baboons, impalas, zebras, and unique tree-climbing lions (keep your eyes up in the trees as you drive!). You'll get some beautiful views of the Escarpment and will enjoy a picnic lunch overlooking the lake.
Just outside of Lake Manyara National Park is the charming community of Mtu wa Mbu. This is where you will be spending the night, so consider enjoying an evening village walk, visit a local produce market, or take a stroll along rice fields if you want to stretch your legs. There are lots of banana plantations in the area, and a special variety of red bananas, which you simply must try while on safari! There is also a nearby place that rents bicycles for all ages, for a leisurely evening ride (additional cost, not included in tour).
This is an exciting day: a drive inside the world's largest, intact volcanic caldera. Home to one of the highest densities of mammals in the world, and its own unique ecosystem. Ngorongoro really is a world unto itself. Here you might see endangered black rhinos, lions, and herds of buffaloes roaming the grasslands. Drive to Lake Magadi, an alkaline lake within the crater floor, or Lerai forest, where you might chance to spot forest elephants. Other animals within the crater include elands, wildebeests, zebras, hyenas, ostriches, and elusive leopards. Enjoy a picnic lunch near the Hippo Pool, where a group of hippos lounge in the refreshing waters, and multitudes of brilliantly-colored starling birds are frequently spotted. In the afternoon, drive back up out of the Crater and return to Arusha town (to your specified drop-off location) by evening. This marks the end of your 2-day safari. A short, but fun-packed experience in Northern Tanzania.
