There are also massive baobab trees and predators such as lions and cheetahs may be spotted in the area, as well. In the early evening, head out of the park. Ngorongoro Crater is famous for it’s unique ecosystem, and boasts one of the most diverse and dense array of animals found anywhere on earth. Living in the Crater are elephants, rhinos, lions, wildebeests, hyenas, buffalo, gazelles, impalas, elands, ostriches, and so many more animals! For lunch, drive to the Hippo Pool. Here you can enjoy bird watching (starlings are commonly spotted in the trees), and hippo watching as you enjoy a picnic lunch. You may drive to Lake Magadi, an alkaline crater lake that fills during the rainy season, for photos of unique birds and waterfowl after lunch.
