During April-June we are witnesses to the incredible mobula ray aggregation here in Baja. They travel in 'fevers' or ‘squadrons’ of hundreds and thousands between the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific Ocean. We will witness individuals launching themselves far out of the water in an acrobatic display of communication. Once in the water we see the HUGE squadron of thousands of individuals cruising around together. Join our open-ocean day safari to Cerralvo Island (Jacques Cousteau Island); a more secluded area of Baja Sur where you can spend a day away from busy Cabo enjoying the unique and stunning mobula ray encounter. And it’s not just the mobula rays! It’s possible to also see Orcas, sperm whales, whale sharks and swim with wild dolphins.

What's Included

A breakfast stop on the way at La Garita - tastiest burritos in Baja!
Picnic lunch on the boat (Sandwiches, chips, sweet breads, finger foods)

Pickup details:

If we are picking you up from your Cabo San Lucas, *Pacific side hotel, we will need you to message your room number to us here on Viator once you check in. We leave Cabo at 5.30am and so your pick up time will be sent to you once we have the room number. This might be any time from 5.10am to 5.25am. If you are coming from the San Jose del Cabo or corridor area you will need to arrive at the dive center at 5:30am or we can organize the pick-up for you at an extra cost on demand.

Meeting point

The car park is next to the Casino. Find Cabo Cantina bar on the main road. Walk into the plaza from here. You will see our signage to the left. If coming from the marina, find DOCK J. Walk back from the marina towards the road. Turn right at Cabo Sailing.

End point
This activity ends back at the meeting point.

What to expect

We pick you up in the day trip transportation. We will drive for 1.5 hours to road stop restaurant breakfast and bathroom break (all dietary requirements catered for).

We arrive in La Ventana once hour after that and meet the panga boat directly at the beach. Snorkelers board the boat over the side from the beach/shallow water and so basic mobility for this is required.

Once in the boat we search for the wildlife for anything between 4-6 hours. We picnic on the boat before heading in to shore. We stop for bathroom breaks on the way back to Cabo and there is also an option to purchase take-out snacks and drinks if you wish.
