The entrance to the Island of Ortigia
We admire the monument to the fallen Italians of Africa that dates back to the fascist era of Benito Mussolini. Initially it was destined for Ethiopia but with the outbreak of World War II the Italian government decided to transfer the work to the city of Syracuse. the monument commemorates the Italian fallen during the Ethiopian War.
The fortress of Castello Maniace, seen from the sea from a breathtaking view, we recommend taking pictures of this unique experience.
The Aretusa spring, a body of water in the island, its origin is the development of one of the many outlets of the water table, the groundwater that also feeds the river Ciane on the opposite side of the Port. In the fountain is set the legend of Arethusa and Alpheus, one of the most fascinating myths of Syracuse. Here we will take a refreshing dip!
