Private Walking Tour in the Ancient Pompeii

2 hours (approximately)
Offered in: English

Are you ready to visit one of the most amazing archaeological sites in the world? Only after exploring the ancient Roman city of Pompeii—buried under layers of ash during the famous eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79—can you truly say you have seen authentic ancient ruins.

Here, you can fully immerse yourself in the world of Ancient Rome.

With my guidance, you will discover how extraordinarily well preserved Pompeii is and how ingenious the ancient Romans were. I will tell you the story of the city, its dramatic destruction, and the daily life, traditions, and habits of its inhabitants.

We will walk along the ancient streets and explore the house of a wealthy citizen, a theatre, a bakery, and the Roman baths, imagining ourselves as visitors from the past. We will see the Forum, the markets, the plaster casts of its citizens, and much more.

Let my knowledge, experience, and anecdotes take you on a journey back in time to Ancient Rome.

Pompeii Archaeological Park Pompeii is a real time machine. Far from the crowds and the beaten path we will step back 2000 years to discover the largest archaeological site of the world. We will cross the city from the Ancient Walls to the Grand Theatre. I will show you the Forum, political and religious center of the Town, and all the administrative buildings surrounding it: The Basilica, the Temple of Apollo, the Macellum (fish, bread and meet market), the Temple of Jupiter and the Granaries. Here there are stored plaster casts of victims who died suffocated during the eruption. We will enter luxury Private Homes to discover their majestic gardens and to admire vibrant frescoes and sophisticated mosaics. We will explore Bath-Houses and ancient taverns, bakeries (Pistrinia) and Thermopolia (wine bars).
