Cabo San Pablo and Estancia Pirinaica is a unique experience because it allows you to get to know a region of Tierra del Fuego full of history, in the middle of a very outstanding Ecotone landscape, in addition to being able to know a ranch over a hundred years old, the stranded ship Desdémona, the Lighthouse with panoramic views of the San Pablo and Ladrillero Coves. Guanacos, foxes can be seen on the road, as well as delighting in the estancia route. We will get to know Estancia Pirinaica with its southernmost sheep shearing shed in the world and all its history. And we will have lunch at Finca La Recalada, served by the owners themselves, with their recipes harvested from their own garden and farm.
Very early we will leave Ushuaia, after breakfast, where, after the pick up from the hotels, we will begin to travel along National Route 3.
We will take a short break to use toilets and then continue our march.
One of the main attractions of the day is the ranches located on the Complementary Route A. We will visit the authentic Pirinaica Ranch. With its almost 100 years of Patagonian production, it has wonderful facilities, which we are going to see. We are going to experience country life, shearing, as well as get to know workspaces such as the carpentry, the largest and southernmost shearing shed in the world, the ranch house, and the forest and environment that the ranch has. We will enjoy a breakfast in the style of the stay, with locally prepared regional products.
We will continue on our way to Cabo Ladrillero, where we will contemplate the capricious, authentic, and pristine landscape, where enormous stones of a particular geomorphology will surprise us. Furthermore, Cabo Ladrillero is a site of a particularity that distinguishes it. Then we will continue to our next attraction, the San Pablo Lighthouse (Depending on the tide conditions, the Desdémona boat could be visited first and then the hike to the lighthouse can be done).
Depending on the tide, we can make this visit before or after lunch. We will tour the outside of the ship, in its entirety, to appreciate its imposing silhouette that represents an icon for the region since 1985, when it ran aground after a journey that took it to the city of Ushuaia for the delivery of twenty thousand bags of cement. , with twenty crew members on board.
We will reach the top of the cape through a path. Once at the top, there is the old leaning lighthouse, and in front of its shores, the rusty hull of the ship "Desdémona" ran aground there in the early 1980s, giving it a dose of mystery typical of the End of the World, and as an example of the past of shipwrecks and adventures that took place in the brave southern seas.
After contemplating such beautiful landscapes, the time will come to taste a delicious homemade lunch prepared by Silvia and Demetri, the hosts of Finca La Recalada. The farm has its own ranch and vegetable garden, from which they obtain the raw materials to prepare the recipes that we will have for lunch. They will make us feel at home, with a 3-course menu with drinks included in a unique natural setting in the world
After all this captivating day, we will return to Ushuaia, where we estimate to arrive around 6:00 p.m.
