Step into a historic brush atelier, normally closed to the public, where generations of artisans have perfected their craft. Here, you will witness the meticulous techniques behind Japan’s finest brushes, take part in the finishing of your very own brush, and deepen your appreciation for this living tradition.

The highlight of the journey is an intimate calligraphy session held in the private residence of a brush artisan. Within a serene tatami-floored room of authentic Japanese architecture, you will be guided by a calligraphy master to experience the profound spirit of “sho” (calligraphy). Surrounded by quiet elegance, every brushstroke becomes a dialogue between ink, paper, and soul—a rare opportunity to encounter the true essence of Japanese aesthetics.
