I take you on a culinary and cultural journey in a cozy setting and you get to know Lapland's culinary side. I only take small groups of 4 - max. 6 persons. I will serve you delicious food that is part of our everyday life above the arctic circle. I am happy to give you insider knowledge about the best places in Ylläs. You can ask me anything you would like to know about Lapland and our life in arctic conditions.

Glögi - alcoholfree typical Finnish winter drink
Glögi is a typical Finnish winter drink served hot. It's like alcohol free mulled wine. Homemade with berry juice, apple juice and several spices.
What's Included
Meeting and pickup
We meet at my house at Rajalammentie 59. When you turn from Rajalammentie to house number 59, you will drive a bit uphill and my house is the single standing cabin on the left. You will see the sign "finnomenal".
What to expect
I welcome you to my garden in Ylläsjärvi, where there is a lavvo tent. In the lavvo I will prepare Lappish delicacies on the fire for you and your group.
These traditional tents, which resemble teepees in North America, are still used by reindeer herders today. In the cosy lavvo by the campfire, the freshly prepared Lappish pancakes with smoked reindeer meat taste twice as good. For dessert, I serve coffee from the fire & Lappish cheese with berries.
I can also make the pancakes vegetarian or vegan on request.
I tell you about my life in Lapland, our culture above the Arctic Circle, nature and wildlife, stories and legends about the northern lights, the midnight sun and everything you always wanted to know. I have many a story to tell from my work at a reindeer farm.
If you are interested in Northern Lights photography, I will also be happy to share my tips and tricks. In summer, I'm also happy to provide information about the best places to enjoy the midnight sun.
