In the morning, drive 4 to 5 hours to Deqin County (3400m altitude) which is 187km away from Zhongdian via Baima Snow Mountain Nature Reserve, where you will be able to view Baima Snow Mountain if the weather is clear, pass the top part of today at 4292m altitude at 156km. After traversing mountain ranges, you will make a short stop and have lunch at Benzilan town, take some shots on the First Bend of Jinsha(Yangtze) River, Dongzhulin Monastery and Baima (white horse) Snow Mountain. Dongzhulin Monastery is the largest one of the three Gelu Sect monasteries in Deqin County and one of the religious cultural activity centers in Kangnan District. The housed treasures include gilded Maitreya , statue of White Drolma, Buddhas of Three Worlds, the ruler of the hell, Manjusri, 18 Arhats statues and Tangkar scroll paintings depicting Buddhist stories.
Feilaisi is located in the Hengduan Mountains approximately 10 km southwest of Deqin (Deqen) in the far northwest of the Yunnan Province in southwest China. Feilaisi enjoys a fabulous view of Meili Snow Mountain, regarded by the public as the best spot to catch the fascinating sight of Meili Snow Mountain at sunrise or sunset . It’s a vital place to get into Yubeng Village and Mingyong Glacier. Feilai Temple was built according to the mountain terrain with architecture at random discretion. The whole temple consists of Zisun (Descendants) Hall, the Hall of God, Haichao (Sea Tide Hall), Liangxiang (Wing-rooms) Hall, Liang’er (Two Ears) Hall, and Sipei (Side)
Get up early in the morning, enjoy the magic sunrise of Meili Snow Mountain. Meili Snow Mountain is one of the most sacred mountains of Tibetan Buddhism. 'Kawagebo Peak' means the God of Snow Mountain in Tibetan, and is a holy land for worship. Pilgrims from Tibet, Qinghai Province, Sichuan Province,and Gansu Province come here at the beginning of each winter to worship. Thousands of devout pilgrims worship together and encircle the holy mountain, which add more mystery and loftiness to it.
Then drive about 1 hour to visit the Mingyong Glacier, one of the major glaciers in China and with an elevation dropping from 5,500 m to 2,700 m, the glacier is the lowest latitude and elevation of any glacier in China. The glacier is sacred to the local people and many Tibetan pilgrims walk here as they walk around Kawagebo passing both Yunnan and Tibet. The glacier winds down from Kawagebo in a 500m wide slide 800m above the Lancang River. After lunch, drive back to Shangrila, service ends.
