What technology shifts played a part in bringing our entire library of entertainment into our pockets?

We will meet at the tree in front of 55 West 53rd Street, just off of 6th Avenue (Avenue of the Americas).

End point

We end across the street from 1697 Broadway, The Ed Sullivan Theater where Stephen Colbert is currently recording his show.

    We will discuss and learn about William Paley, the founder of CBS, how he shaped the company that shaped Television and Radio. We will also look at men like Clive Davis, Walter Yetnikoff and John Hammond who you may or may not know of who lead the world of music from behind the scenes for decades. They guided and managed the artists we all know and love today, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Billy Holiday, Bob Dylan, Michael Jackson, Janis Joplin, just to name a few.

    In these buildings, people worked and decisions were made that have shaped our culture. From the invention of television and growth of radio to the foundations of American musical culture. Companies like Atlantic Records, NBC, Warner Brother Movies, the New York Cosmos, featuring Pele had offices in these buildings and exciting decisions were made there!
