Herculaneum was founded by the Oschi, an Italic tribe of the eighth century BC, and later became part of the Etruscan and Samnite dominions. Under the control of the Romans, the city was a renowned seaside resort where some of the wealthiest Roman citizens spent their summer holidays
You will visit the Cantina del Vesuvio on the slopes of Mont Vesuvius and you will taste the food and wine specialties of the Campania region

From Pompeii to Herculaneum there are 30 minutes drive Stop At: Parco Acheologico di Ercolano, Corso Resina, 187, 80056 Ercolano Italy You will visit the ruins of Herculaneum with an official licensed guide (we will arrange an excellent one on your behalf). Herculaneumwas was most founded by the Oscans, an Italic tribe of the 8th century BC, and later became part of both the Etruscan and Samnite dominions. Under control of the Romans, the city was a renowned seaside resort where some of the richest Roman citizens passed their summer vacations. Unlike neighboring Pompeii, the citizens of Herculaneum were suffocated to death by poisonous fumes rather than buried under heavy ash. The town was partially buried by a thick layer of mud (50 feets) and Lava. Duration: 2 hours
