What to expect
Your experience begins with a warm welcome at the doorstep of a local Omani family home. Step inside and relax in the traditional living room, where you will be welcomed with Omani dates and coffee, following the customs of Omani hospitality.
You will have the opportunity to meet the host family and learn about their culture and traditions. Before the meal, your hosts will introduce each dish, sharing its name, origins, preparation, and cultural history before inviting you to enjoy the meal together.
As you dine, take part in friendly conversations about Oman, travel, local traditions, and everyday life, while sharing stories and experiences with your hosts. After the meal, enjoy refreshing juices or traditional tea accompanied by a delicious Omani dessert.
Before saying goodbye, experience another beautiful Omani tradition: frankincense will be burned as a gesture of hospitality and farewell. Your hosts will then walk you to the door, wish you a wonderful stay in Oman, and send you off with warm memories of an authentic Omani family experience.
