In Asterousia mountains (the southernmost mountain of Europe) there is the one and only trail of the ''iron road'' in Crete.
Inside in the wild and rocky landscape with the imposing gorges. Through the steep slopes with the panoramic view to the Mediterranean sea and among the wild flora and fauna of the region, lays one of the most impressive Via Ferrata route in Greece!

What's Included
Meeting and pickup
Our meeting point is at Kapetaniana, Heraklion on Asterousia Mountain. Your transfer there is done by your own means, unless there is a consultation with our office so that we can undertake your transfer, at the appropriate cost.
Our meeting point is at the main square of Ano Kapetaniana Village, at the entry of the Village. Make sure that you take the road to Kapetaniana - Agios Ioannis.
What to expect
With all necessary equipment provided and experienced certified guides leading the way, this Via Ferrata route offers a safe and exhilarating experience.
Suitable for beginners with good physical shape and small groups or families, it’s an ideal escape from everyday life.
The adventure starts at the remote village of Kapetaniana. After a small briefing about the use of the equipment and details upon the route, we will drive you with our off-road vehicle to the starting point of the activity. The adventure begins there!
While the trail follows the fixed anchors, ladders, and cables that assist us in navigating steep terrain safely, we have the chance to enjoy great views from the steep slopes, admire mystical deep gorges and climb high vertical walls.
After three hours of safe adventure and breathtaking views we return back, from a circular path, to the starting point.
Please note that good physical condition is required. Also, the Via Ferrata activity is not suitable for people who are afraid of heights, suffering from vertigo, etc.
