Arrive on the board of a train in Riomaggiore, the first of the Cinque Terre villages you will visit. Squeezed between two steep terraced hills that descend to the sea in steep crags, the ancient village of Riomaggiore strikes the visitor with its delightfully colorful, vertically built houses. Explore Riomaggiore by foot or relax in a café or bar.

3Borgo Storico di Manarola
Board a train to arrive in Manarola, the second village you will visit today. A sunny-colored fresco, a paradise of vines and olive trees, an ancient village with saline colors in which the houses seem to rise from the cliffs of the long, narrow marina. The earliest historical records on Manarola belong to the second half of the thirteenth century. Enjoy some free time to explore at your own pace. Next, take the train to Vernazza.
