A wonderful adventure through Fes the imperial city. We will begin Fes guided tour by discovering the old Medina and its narrow streets , where we will explore the ancient architecture, and the lined shops of fruits, spices, traditional candies, as well as the traditional handmade crafts such as carpets, leather bags, copper lamps, wood furniture, ceramic, silver decorative pieces..etc.
I will meet yout at Place Batha near LA POSTE. We can pick you up from your hotel, or road and accommodation, if you are inside the Medina
We will begin Fes guided tour by discovering the old Medina and its narrow streets , where we will explore the ancient architecture.
Then we will continue our adventure towards one of the oldest Universities in Africa, called " Al Quaraouin" which was founded in 859. Access to the inside of the mosques is not possible for no Muslims,customers can have a peep from the two main doors and take plenty of photos.
Another ancient historical place is Madrassa El Bou Inania which express the beauty of the Marinid architecture. The customers can get inside the medersa bouinania through the maincourtyard,and the small leftsideroom taking photos and listening to the information.access to the mosque and rooms is not allowed
Our next stop in our Fes excursion will be the Najjarine fountain. A pause at the nejjarine square to admire the beauty of is fantastic fountain,a visit to the wood market to enjoy the craft and wood aroma,and a visit to the museum(not obligatory) with its three stories( no photos of the exhibited items)
Fes is called the capital of handicraft and the most stunning of that is the tannening of skins of animals in order to produce a higher quantity of leather stuff.a visit to the chouara tannery from one of the neighbouring terraces will enable u to admire a feel the process of leather production. We will proceed to explore the Chouara Tannery, where the leather is cleaned and dyed, to be sold to the leather craftsman.We will take a lunch break at a local restaurant, to taste the delicious flavoured Moroccan dishes.
In the afternoon we will begin again the Fes guided tour with Bad Boujloud or what is called the blue gate, This gate is stunning with the combination of the blue and green traditional tiles. A pause at the bab boujloud or blue gate is like the introductory key to our visit to the medina.visitors will admire the blue colour of the tiles from the outside referring to the city and get informacity,another pause from the inside will enable them to see the green colour of the tile which is the colour of Islam,and that will the beginning of the journey
