We'll leave Quito in the morning. Along the way, we'll enjoy diverse landscapes as we enter the Amazon region. We'll make a stop at Papallacta Lagoon, where we'll have the opportunity to admire the scenery. We'll have time to relax in the medicinal hot spring pools, perfect for unwinding before continuing our journey. We'll travel for a couple more hours and arrive at the lodge in the Amazon region, where we'll be treated to a lunch prepared with fresh, local, and regional ingredients. This lunch will offer you an authentic taste of Amazonian cuisine. After lunch, you'll have free time to relax at the lodge, enjoy the facilities, and admire the natural beauty of the surroundings. In the evening, we'll have dinner at the lodge and take a short night hike through the jungle. Finally, you'll check into the lodge, where you can rest and prepare for the next day's adventures.
We begin the day with a delicious breakfast and prepare for our jungle activities, wearing the boots provided by the lodge. We will take a shuttle to Puerto Ahuano, where a boat will take us to "Amazoonico." There, we will go birdwatching with wonderful species such as parrots and macaws, as well as other interesting ones such as anaconda, caimans, tapirs, peccaries, and monkeys. Then, we will continue to Caimán Island and Lagoon, where the Kichwa community will share their clothing and the preparation of cassava chicha. We will also learn how to use the blowgun, a local hunting tool. We will continue with a short hike to Caimán Lagoon, where we will feed some caimans from a safe vantage point under the supervision of a local guide. We will continue to the Arajuno River to take the boat to another nearby community where we will enjoy a traditional lunch. Finally, we will board the shuttle and return to the lodge. Dinner and free evening for evening entertainment and accommodation.
After breakfast, we'll have time to relax at the lodge, enjoy the pool, or simply read a book in a serene setting. We'll take this opportunity to immerse ourselves in the natural beauty that surrounds us and disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We'll then have lunch (not included) at the lodge restaurant, where we'll sample regional cuisine. Afterward, we'll head back to Quito, with the opportunity to enjoy panoramic views along the way.
