This Two-Day UNESCO Heritage Tour offers a rich exploration of Albania’s cultural, historical, and natural wonders, visiting three UNESCO World Heritage sites. Each of these sites offers a unique glimpse into Albania's ancient civilizations, Ottoman influence, and the preservation of traditional architecture. Day 1: Berat & Gjirokastra Departure from Tirana: Begin your day with a scenic drive through the Albanian countryside to Berat, the "City of a Thousand Windows." Berat is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in Albania, renowned for its Ottoman-era architecture and well-preserved historical buildings. Key Sites to Visit The Castle of Berat . Mangalem & Gorica Quarters Leaving behind the UNESCO city of Berat, drive through the heart of Albania. As we travel south, winding roads lead us toward the region of Tepelenë, Cold Water. We sit down for lunch at a local riverside restaurant. (Driving to Cold Water is 2,5 hour) DrivIing to Gjirokastra (Approx. 1 hour).
Afternoon: Gjirokastra. After a lunch break, at Cold water Tepelen restaurant has a fantastic view of the mountain in front and the crystal-clear river flowing below. After lunch you head to Gjirokastra, also known as the "City of Stone." UNESCO World Heritage Site: Gjirokastra is famous for its stone-built houses, cobblestone streets, and its remarkable Ottoman and medieval architecture. Key Sites to Visit in Gjirokastra: Gjirokastra Castle – One of the largest castles in the Balkans, offering panoramic views of the city and the Drino River valley. After visiting the Castle You have free time to visit the Old Bazaar and the iconic buildings located in this bazaar. The Skenduli House – A well-preserved Ottoman-era house showcasing the lifestyle of wealthy merchants. The Zekate House – Known for its unique defensive design. Overnight: Stay overnight in Gjirokastra, where you can enjoy the old town's ambiance and traditional Albanian hospitality.
After breakfast at 8.30 we drive to Blue Eye.The Blue Eye (Syri i Kaltër) – Albania’s Natural Wonder The Blue Eye (Syri i Kaltër) is one of Albania’s most mesmerizing natural attractions. Located about 30 minutes from Saranda, this crystal-clear spring is famous for its deep blue center, resembling a human eye, surrounded by lush greenery. Unbelievable Colors & Mystery – The spring’s intense blue and turquoise shades create a stunning visual effect. The exact depth of the source remains unknown, adding to its mystique. After visiting The Blue Eye we drive to Natinal Park of Butrint.(1.30h) Why Visit Butrint?
