Ottawa, Canada

1 hour 15 minutes (approximately)
Offered in: English

The Ghosts of Christmas Past Are Calling! Step into the shadows of the festive season, where lantern light flickers, snow falls softly, and stories linger in the long nights. From chilling winter folklore to ghostly yuletide legends, you’ll discover a darker thread woven through the season’s cheer. The majority of the tour unfolds inside the dimly lit Bytown Museum, one of Ottawa’s oldest and most haunted buildings. Once inside, you’ll learn why some Haunted Walk tour guides are too scared to give tours of the museum—even at Christmas time. Warm lights. Spooky seasonal chills. A night of festive fright you won’t soon forget. December 5, 6, 13, 20, 27-30, 2025.

    Rideau Canal National Historic Site

The 90-minute storytelling adventure will surprise, amaze, and delight even the most skeptical in the group. Along the way, hear a number of stories. Find out about the tragic connection between the Titanic and the Fairmont Chateau Laurier; why the Rideau Canal (a Unesco World Heritage Site) is believed to be haunted by 1,000 workers who died during the construction; and Ottawa's infamously haunted high school. Also, learn about a Canadian solider who was saved from certain death by the intervention of a deceased family member. And discover why Ottawa's oldest building seems to be its most haunted. Begin with a short walk along the Rideau Canal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site wrapped in winter stillness. The water, stone walls, and crisp air set an atmospheric tone before we step inside for the darker folklore of the season.
