Between July 20 and November 20, we organize whale-watching trips from Paea marina (Tahiti, 27 km from Papeete). We explore a little-frequented area between Paea and Papara, which gives us the latitude to observe the animals with the greatest respect, since few boats frequent the area. If all conditions are met, our guides can authorize you to swim with the whales, in compliance with the approach rules. We have a listening system on board to listen to the songs of the males.
The guide reserves the right to refuse swimming if safety conditions are not respected. You must be able to swim at least 100m without difficulty with snorkeling equipment (fins, mask, snorkel). Children under 10 years of age will not be allowed in the water, without exception. Please note: new regulations do not allow us to supervise more than 6 swimmers at a time.

NO PICK-UP. The fishing port is located before the 33/27 milestone (27km from PPT/33km from Taravao) in Paea after the ILM research center. You will see our sign Mobydick Tahiti. On weekends, please park on the parking of the school (mountain side).

What to expect

Between end of July and November, we organize humpback whale watching trips from the marina of Paea (Tahiti). We explore a little frequented area between Paea and the small islands (motu) of Mataiea, further south, which allows us to have the latitude to observe the animals in the greatest respect. If all the conditions are met, our guides can authorize you to swim with the whales, while respecting the rules of approach established by the DIREN. The approach in the water requires a swimming phase for at least 200m, but at a reasonable distance from the whale, we act as a passive observer. However, it is not necessary to get wet to observe or hear the humpback whales, since we have on board a listening system allowing us to broadcast the hypnotic songs of the males.
