This trip will have a maximum of 5 people per SUV or 14 people per van
Our guide will contact you one day before your tour and confirm the pick-up location and time.
After being picked-up at your hotel or vacation rental in our van, we'll take the scenic Washington State ferry to Bainbridge Island. Enjoy sweeping views of the Seattle skyline and Puget Sound.
Drive along the shores of Lake Crescent, a breathtaking glacier-carved lake renowned for its brilliant, crystal-clear blue waters with visibility extending up to 60 feet below the surface. Stop near the historic Storm King Ranger Station, built in 1937, to take in the stunning alpine scenery and stretch your legs. Enjoy an optional short guided walk to Marymere Falls — a graceful 119-foot waterfall plunging through a shady old-growth forest along Barnes Creek, one of the most beloved short hikes in all of Olympic National Park. According to local tribal legend, the lake was formed when Mount Storm King, angered by the incessant fighting between the Quileute and Klallam tribes, hurled a piece of the mountain down to separate them forever.
Break up the drive with a scheduled stop in the legendary town of Forks — once self-proclaimed the "Logging Capital of the World" and now equally famous as the real-life setting of Stephenie Meyer's beloved Twilight saga. Twilight author Stephenie Meyer chose Forks after searching Google for the rainiest place in the United States — and Forks, with its near-constant cloud cover and dramatic misty forests, fit perfectly. Nestled deep within the Olympic Peninsula's legendary rainforest country, this charming community serves as the perfect base camp for Pacific Northwest adventurers. Browse for unique local souvenirs, pick up lunch, fresh coffee, or trail snacks, and don't miss a stop at the Forks Timber Museum, where you can learn how the forests were logged before chainsaws and how the town survived the industry's collapse in the 1990s. Your guide will share insights into the town's fascinating dual identity before you head out to the wild coast.
During the afternoon, our tour group will enjoy a scenic stop at Rialto Beach along the Olympic Wilderness Coast. At Rialto Beach, guests will walk alongside towering sea stacks, massive driftwood logs, and watch the crashing waves of the Pacific Ocean. Guests can either join a guided hike led by our naturalist hiking guide or can explore the coast at their own pace as time and tides permit.
