The city of Atami is a well-known beach and hot spring resort located in Shizuoka Prefecture. After arriving at Atami Station, we will take a local bus to the famous MOA Museum of Art. Perched on a hilltop, the museum offers breathtaking views of Sagami Bay and the Pacific Ocean. The MOA Museum of Art, opened in 1982, is renowned for its impressive collection of traditional Japanese and East Asian art, including National Treasures such as Red and White Plum Blossoms by Ogata Kōrin and works by renowned artists like Sesson Shukei and Tawaraya Sōtatsu. Its elegant modern architecture, spacious galleries, and panoramic coastal views make it one of the cultural highlights of the region.
You’ll also have the opportunity to stroll through the beautiful Japanese-style gardens located just outside the museum. These serene gardens showcase seasonal beauty—cherry blossoms, azaleas, and wisteria in spring, and vibrant autumn foliage in the fall.
