Although beer is not a traditional Basque drink, Basque people love it. Why? Well, for the same reasons that Homer Simpson loves it. For a few years now, beer-making has been a powerful trend in San Sebastián with many (very good) ideas, many (very good) producers and many (very good) spots in which to taste a substantial number of bold and edgy beers. We’ll drink, we’ll walk through the coolest neighborhoods in the city, and we’ll have dinner in a place no less cool.

Start the evening out at one of the most unique space in San Sebastian that brings a Basque bar, a modern restaurant and a brewery together. Next, we will stroll down the streets of the relaxed surfing district Gros to finally reach our next stop - the mecca for true beer connoisseurs! This tiny, family-run bar has been open for over thirty years and is the only place in San Sebastian where you can try the best local and imported artisan beers & lambics carefully chosen by Gorka - beer freak and a proud owner in one! You will sample some of his recommendations accompanied by a delicious hot pintxo.

The third bar is a new addition to San Sebastian’s craft beer scene but the initiative behind it dates back to 2014 when a couple of American expats decided to challenge Basque breweries with their west coast-style pales and IPAs. That's right! One of the most recognizable Spanish breweries in the European craft community was founded by Americans! You will taste three of their flagship beers including: Pale Ale, Session IPA and IPA.

We will continue along Zurriola beach to round out our evening at ‘sea and wind’ flavored bar that has around 150 beers on their menu including the owner's brews. It is a simple, minimalistic space always filled with a hip clientele. You will enjoy four carefully selected beers paired with some local selection of cheese & ham, 100% Basque beef burger and chocolate!
