Its 77-metre minaret can be seen from 25 kilometres away and, lit up in the evenings, it becomes the city’s “spiritual lighthouse”
Bab Agnaou (Arabic: باب اكناو; Berber languages: ⵜⴰⵡⵓⵔⵜ ⴰⴳⵏⴰⵡ; sometimes transliterated as Bab Agnaw) is one of the best-known gates of Marrakesh, Morocco. Its construction is attributed to the Almohad caliph Abu Yusuf Ya'qub al-Mansur and was completed around 1188 or 1190.
The Saadian tombs in Marrakech are the only remains of the Saadian dynasty, founders of Marrakech, as the other constructions were destroyed by Sultan Moulay in the 18th century. The tombs were built at the time of the sultan Ahmad al-Mansur (1578-1603) and forgotten for centuries before being discovered around 1917.
The Bahia Palace was built in 1894 by Si Moussa, the Grand Vizier of Sultan Moulay Hassan I. It was intended to be a luxurious residence for the Grand Vizier and his family. The palace was designed by French architect, Paul Sinoir, and was inspired by traditional Moroccan architecture.
