Originally, it served as a gate tower in the city’s western fortifications. Located in Bern’s Old Town (UNESCO site), it’s a central meeting point and one of the most photographed spots in the city.
The Federal Palace of Switzerland (Parliament Building) in Bern is the seat of the Swiss Federal Assembly and Federal Council. Built between 1894–1902 in a grand neo-Renaissance style, it symbolizes Swiss democracy. The central dome is decorated with the Swiss cross and national motifs.
