Arusha Airport(ARK)
Your safari with Explore Green Africa Safaris begins with an early morning departure from Arusha or Arusha Airport (ARK). After meeting your professional driver-guide, you will embark on a scenic overland journey to the heart of Serengeti National Park, a drive of approximately 7 to 8 hours, including transit through Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This overland route offers an immersive introduction to northern Tanzania’s stunning landscapes. Along the way, you will pass through traditional Maasai villages, rolling highlands, and expansive plains. The journey also includes a picnic lunch stop at the conservation area or Naabi Gate main entrance Serengeti. Upon entering the park, you will enjoy a game drive en route to your lodge or camp in the Central Serengeti. This area is rich in wildlife year-round. After a rewarding afternoon of wildlife viewing, you will arrive at your accommodation in time to freshen up, enjoy a hearty dinner, and relax in the heart of the African wilderness.
After breakfast, you will embark on a final game drive through the Seronera region of the Central Serengeti. This area is known for its dense concentration of wildlife, including lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, and large herds of herbivores. The morning light offers ideal conditions for photography and excellent opportunities for predator sightings as animals are most active in the cooler hours. After your game drive, you will depart the Serengeti and begin your scenic drive southeast toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, passing through varied landscapes including open plains and the volcanic highlands. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed en route. You will arrive at your lodge or camp situated on or near the Ngorongoro Crater rim in the late afternoon. The rest of the evening is free for you to relax, enjoy the highland views, and prepare for the next day’s descent into the crater—one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife experiences.
After an early breakfast, you will descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive. Known as the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera, the crater is home to one of the most concentrated populations of wildlife in Africa, including the Big Five—lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard—as well as hippos, hyenas, wildebeest, zebras, and a wide variety of bird species. The diverse ecosystem within the crater floor, combined with its dramatic landscape, offers an unforgettable safari experience. A picnic lunch will be served at a scenic spot near one of the crater’s watering holes. Following the game drive, you will ascend from the crater and begin your drive back to Arusha, arriving in the late afternoon. Depending on your travel plans, you will either be transferred to your hotel in Arusha or dropped off at the airport for your flight home or onward to another exciting destination.
