Your journey continues with a short 30-minute boat ride from Stone Town to historic Prison Island, also called Changuu Island. Built in 1893 as a detention center, it’s now a peaceful sanctuary full of history and natural beauty. A highlight is the Aldabra Giant Tortoise sanctuary, where you can see these gentle creatures, some over 150 years old. After breakfast, you’ll be picked up from Gold Zanzibar Beach House & Spa and driven to Fumba Village, where you’ll board a traditional wooden dhow for a sail to Kwale Island. Along the way, explore Menai Bay, known for frequent dolphin sightings. At Kwale sandbank, anchor for snorkeling among vibrant coral reefs. Kwale Island also offers the chance to explore and climb an ancient baobab tree that, despite falling hundreds of years ago, still stands tall. Enjoy a buffet lunch featuring grilled fish, lobster, calamari, chicken, and coconut rice. The dhow then sails to a stunning natural lagoon perfect for swimming.
