Start your day by visiting Baraka Natural Aquarium which is home to endangered sea turtles and a variety of fish. The aquarium itself is a natural formation carved out from the coral bedrock by the erosion of millions of waves crashing against the shore. The depth of the water rises and falls with the tides providing a natural environment for its inhabitants. Use the unique opportunity to swim with sea turtles. During the visit, you can also feed turtles with seaweed or just spend your time in the water. Also, you can take snorkeling masks to dive and watch them in their natural environment.

This part of the trip includes a stopover in the traditional fish market in Nungwi, sightseeing and free time to relax at the white sand beach of the north if you wish. Depending on the catch day you might see Tuna, King Fish, Dorado and a variety of other large fish for sale. Local fishermen (and women) wade out to the edge of the coral reef to catch a number of different small sea creatures including squid, octopus, pufferfish and the occasional ray – their catch will be sold at the fish market throughout the day.

We will stop at the blacksmith and see the traditional way of making the tools for the construction of dhows. At the construction site, we will see the way dhows have been built for centuries and see how skilled craftsmen bend wood to create the dhows. Take advantage of the opportunity to try your hand at this unique craft. While watching the white sails of the Dhows go by, you might wonder how these impressive boats are made. The Nungwi Boat Yard is a riveting (if you’ll pardon the pun) experience where you’ll meet the shipyard owner and learn how the dhows are built; from the sourcing of the wood to the joints used and how they are launched.

The Kendwa Beach is located in the same-name village in the northwest of Zanzibar, it is popular with travelers from all over the world. This is one of the best resorts in Zanzibar. It is calm, quiet and peaceful. Kendwa is a wide and long beach, so there is enough space for all vacationers and is suitable for both adults and children. The slope is flat, the water deepens gradually and quickly. There is no shallow water, shells, stones and algae. On the coast fine white sand lies and tall perennial palms grow. The ocean is calm with azure, clear and transparent water. The beach is also equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi for tourists.
