The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque was designed mainly by Syrian architect Yousef Abdelki, supported by additional architects and specialists from Syria. Its construction involved more than 3,000 workers and 38 contracting companies from around the world. Architecturally, the mosque is a blend of Islamic styles, combining Mughal, Moorish, Ottoman, Persian, and other influences to create a beautifully unified design. The mosque complex covers over 555,000 square meters and can accommodate approximately 55,000 worshippers

The central chandelier is exceptionally tall and incredibly heavy. * The mosque’s unique lighting system reflects the phases of the moon — glowing soft white during the full moon and gradually shifting to deeper blue shades as the moon decreases.
