Day 1 – Boat to Sirena Station & Rainforest Hike Depart from the Public Dock in Puerto Jiménez at 5:20 a.m. The scenic 1.5-hour boat ride crosses the Golfo Dulce and Pacific coast, often revealing dolphins, sea turtles, and seabirds. Arrive at Sirena Beach, disembark directly on the sand (water shoes recommended) and check in at Sirena Ranger Station. Begin your first guided walk through the rainforest in search of tapirs, monkeys, macaws, toucans, and coatis. At 11:30 a.m., enjoy a buffet-style lunch with typical Costa Rican dishes; vegetarian and vegan options available on request. After a short rest, continue with an afternoon hike on nearby trails, exploring river areas and open fields where wildlife is often active. If weather allows, enjoy a tropical sunset before returning for dinner at 6:00 p.m. and overnight at Sirena Biological Station, with shared rooms, bunk beds, mosquito nets, and solar power.
Day 2 – Morning Hike & Return to Puerto Jiménez Wake up early for a sunrise walk at 5:00 a.m., one of the best times to spot wildlife such as monkeys, tapirs, and birds beginning their day. After breakfast at 7:00 a.m., continue exploring different trails around Sirena with your local guide. At 11:30 a.m., enjoy a buffet-style lunch before preparing for departure. Around 12:45 p.m., board the boat back to Puerto Jiménez, arriving at approximately 2:30 p.m. You’ll have time to collect your luggage at our office or relax before continuing your travels.
