  Yosemite National Park

  Yosemite National Park lies within the Sierra Nevada mountain range, around a 3.5-hour drive from San Francisco. It was inscribed as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site in 1984. Over millions of years, glaciers carved out its dramatic granite valley landscape. All the signature landmarks cluster in the heart of Yosemite Valley: El Capitan, the world’s largest granite monolith and a world-famous rock-climbing mecca; Yosemite Falls, North America’s tallest waterfall with a total drop of 739 meters, boasting powerful snowmelt flows in spring and summer. The overlook at the tunnel entrance offers a classic postcard-perfect view capturing El Capitan and Bridalveil Fall in one frame. At an elevation of 2,199 meters, Glacier Point stands as the highest viewpoint over the entire valley. From the cliff edge, you can overlook the whole valley, cascading waterfalls and rolling mountain ranges. The historic geology hut serves as a popular photo frame spot.

  Tunnel View

  This exclusive viewing platform sits right after Wawona Tunnel. From here you can see three iconic Yosemite landmarks at once: El Capitan on the left, Bridalveil Fall in the center, and Half Dome in the distance. It is the most famous postcard viewpoint of Yosemite worldwide. Geology: The U-shaped valley was carved by glaciers over millions of years, offering unobstructed views. Best time for photos: Sunset, when the granite cliffs glow golden-red under the evening sun. Bright midday light is ideal for full panoramic shots.

  Bridalveil Fall

  The waterfall visible from Tunnel View boasts a drop of 189 meters. Wind disperses its mist to resemble an elegant flowing wedding veil, and waterfall rainbows are easily captured on sunny mornings. The trail is paved and flat, requiring only a 5-minute one-way hike. It is suitable for visitors of all ages. In winter, freezing conditions turn it into an ice waterfall.

  Yosemite Falls

  North America’s tallest waterfall (739 meters), consisting of upper, middle and lower sections. The lower fall features a 20-minute round-trip flat trail leading straight to the waterfall base. Get up close to hear its thunderous roar and gaze upward at the massive vertical rock face, where wild rock climbers can often be spotted on the cliffs year-round.

  El Capitan

  The world’s largest granite monolith, standing at 914 meters tall. It is the iconic location featured in the film Free Solo and the ultimate bucket-list destination for rock climbers. There is a designated roadside viewing parking area, no hiking required, where you can view the full vertical rock face at eye level. On clear days, you can even spot tiny climbers on the rock, highlighting the mountain’s immense scale. A wide-angle lens is needed to capture the entire monolith. Morning light brings out sharp textures on the rock.
